Jovie's Party

Jovie decided long ago that she wanted a unicorn party. She also knew who she wanted to come. She made many lists and drew many pictures to document all of the details for us.

We decided on Berry Swirl and invited family and her preschool friends.

They decorated unicorn horns, ate yogurt, cupcakes, and opened presents.

She counted her candles as we sung to her to make sure there were five on her cupcake.

She really wanted a piñata.  Originally she wanted a piñata party with lots of different kinds of pinatas. Then she narrowed it down to unicorns.

We love this creative girl.

Jovie has two great aunts.

She has four fantastic grandparents.

More celebrations to come.

Valentine's Week

The girls were excited about their beautiful flowers from their Daddy. Jensen got some candy and a banana. Haha.

We had a wonderful Valentine's morning at home before church.  The night before Jeremy got a babysitter and he and I went out to dinner and did a little shopping.  It was nice to have quality time together.

It snowed just a little bit, so the kids were out trying to catch a few flakes.

Haven made chef hats one day and the kids made muffins.

While sitting on the couch one night, Jensen and Jovie wanted me to do "Little Piggies" with their toes and I examined their feet.  They are almost the same size.

We got our baby seat back after Cash used it and Jovie wanted to see if she still fits.  It is funny to see her long body in that chair that her 4 pound little self used to sit in. If and when our foster care process ever gets finished, we may have another little one in that chair one day.

I ran the Valentine's 5k and placed 1st in my age group.  I got running store gift card for placing and I won a massage gift card in the raffle!

It was a week full of love!

Freezing February Fun

Jensen is officially potty trained.  He is even dry most mornings when he gets up.  We are proud of him and so glad this is behind us!

We went to the park after preschool one day, for Axel's birthday party. It was freezing but fun. We thought this sweet gum tree was so pretty beside the lake.  I had never seen the gum balls just hanging like this.

We went to Haven's class for her valentine's party. My center was a joke puzzle worksheet. The little ones enjoyed being in her class.

I'm thankful for the diversity, even though it is small, in Haven's class.  These three, Brittney, Will, and Alfred were in a group together and I am so glad Haven gets to be in class with them.

We celebrated Mimi's birthday. She is such a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother.  We are so thankful to have her.

We hit up Latta Plantation for the Fairy House Festival. I have heard about it the past few years and really wanted to go this year.  It was cold, but a lot of fun.

While we were there, the Carolina Raptor Center released a hawk that had been injured.

It flew right over us.  It was amazing.

The girls made fairy wands from sticks and string, acorn necklaces, and painted rocks. They got their faces painted for free.  We stood in line for a while, because we don't ever pay for face paint at festivals. We always hit up the free ones.

We entered the fairy house contest as #101.  The kids loved doing it.  I love seeing them excited creating things, especially out of nature.

Let's Go Hornets!

Haven lost her front tooth right before we headed uptown for a Hornet's game.

It was the night before the Super Bowl so, the city was lit up.

Jensen thoroughly enjoyed his first game and Haven loved it too.  We left Jovie with Lyndsey for a special night because she wouldn't have loved all of the aspects of the ball game.

We love Hugo in all of his forms.

My basketball loving guys!
