Wendy brought over stick on nails for the girls a few weeks ago. They loved them so much and wore them for days. I am still finding random fingernails around the house.

Fantastic Week!

I totally forgot to carry my camera around with me this week, but I need to write down all we did because we had so much fun!

Monday- Library and picnic at park

Tuesday-  Day at home, I think. I don't really remember.

Wednesday- Day at Lake Tillery with Cousins. We had a blast taking a boat ride. The girls swam and rode the jet ski. We had pizza for lunch with cookies and ice cream. It was just so fun. Then Bethany spent the night for the first time! I do have a picture of that.

Thursday- Bonnie, Wendy, and I went to The Rock Barn Spa for Wendy's 35th birthday. It was so amazing. I probably haven't felt that free since before I got pregnant with Haven. It was just amazing to swim at our leisure, get massage, swim some more, eat lunch outside by the hot tub, take a shower free from distractions, and then get pretty with me favorite people. I felt like a teenager, seriously! While I did all of that, Jeremy and Lyndsey took the kids, plus Bethany, to Discovery Place Kids and to Lupie's for lunch. They had a blast too. We went to dinner at McAlister's for Free Tea Day!

Friday- We went to the bank to put in the kids coins from Gramm and visited Haven's preschool playground. I went to the Electric Run with friends Friday night. We had a great time running in the dark. It was quite an experience with 20,000+ people in crazy costumes. We danced with our glow sticks and got home super late.

Saturday- Running group for me and it felt great to run 6 miles within 12 hours. That doesn't happen very often. The worship band plus families had a party at a church members lake house and it was wonderful. The kids swam again. Jeremy got to tube. These people were so nice and they had a beautiful home. Pretty much paradise.

We were so busy this week, but it flew by and we made great memories!

4th of July

We enjoyed a delicious 4th of July lunch and swim at Jeremy's parent's house. The kids were so cute in their red, white, and blue.

When we got home that night the girls had their first experience with sparklers! Thanks to Grammy they felt very safe with their upside cup to guard their hands.

She's Growing Up

Jovie has been putting up a fight at naptime and bedtime lately. It is the same thing Haven did at 2.5 years old. Early last week, she only wanted to fall asleep on the floor and then we would put her in the crib. We already had this twin bed in her room, so the last few days we have been letting her sleep in there. She seems to be proud of herself. She isn't napping everyday, so we have some fussy afternoons, but then she goes to sleep fast at night. She also went #1 and #2 in the potty over the weekend at Jeremy's parents house. She hasn't done it again, but hopefully she will be ready soon.

Jovie is a sweet girl. Right now, she loves giving kisses and finding out if people can whistle.

Summer Recap So Far

We have been busy this summer with the library, July 4th fun, VBS, art camp for Haven, swimming and lots of rain.

Haven dressed up like a ballerina for a few days in a row. It was really the first time she seemed serious about dressing up and turning into a new character. She was so pretty.

Hanging out on the couch.

Jovie wanted a picture of her holding brother. His eyes look kind of crazy. :)

The girls have spent a lot of time with Aunt Lyndsey, Meems, and Peeps. Here are a few pictures from them.

I took this picture from Bonnie. We watched fireworks at the Bradleys on July 4th.

The Summeys are so kind to share their awesome pool with us in the summer. We have had a blast.

Haven loved art camp. She has been drawing pretty seriously the last few days since art camp ended. I love watching her create and then be so proud of her work. She also loved VBS at New Covenant and did awesome performing their songs the last night. Jovie went two nights and she was done with it.

Riding Lessons

Haven has had two horse riding lessons so far. She is taking lessons at Shining Hope Farms, where I used to work, with Ms. Madison. We wanted her to get used to being around a big animal and get a taste for what riding horses is all about to see if she is interested.

I have noticed that all of the girls around the farm are very responsible and personable. They also don't seem near as concerned about looks or boys. Horseback riding seems to give them lots of confidence.

Getting her helmet on.

Brushing Fritz

Watching Madison saddle him up.

Getting her stirrups adjusted.

Walk on, Fritz!

Jovie was cheering for her!

She had a fun ride! We will see if she wants to keep it up.

Green Hair

Haven and Jovie played in the rain a few weeks ago and she ended up with green hair. They love how the sidewalk chalk looks so bright when wet, so they drew some pictures. Then Haven put her hair in the wet chalk and she ended up with green hair for days. She liked it.

On a blog yesterday, I saw a tutorial for using drawing chalks to put color in your hair. Then in a magazine there was an advertisement for hair color chalks. I had no idea people were actually doing this on purpose with chalk. I guess we are right on track with this fad. haha

Our garden is growing well so far except for those weird gray bugs eating the squash again this year. I need to find out how to get rid of them. Here are our first few things we picked. I'm ready for some cucumbers and tomatoes to come in!

Jensen sampling lettuce.

cell phone pictures i forgot about

An outing with just our little two. Jeremy's eyes are bugging out.

Jovie loving the attention.

Jovie finally mastered puppeteering at Discovery Place Kids.

Jensen fell asleep on Grammy.

We went back to Monkey Joe's after lunch one day and the girls had the place to themselves. They were in heaven.

Jensen swinging at the park. This is possibly one of my favorite pictures ever.

The kids and I went to Hope Park in Mooresville last week. It was really hot and really fun. There was a cool splash pad there too, but I had my hands too full to take pictures of that.
