2 months old

Jensen turned two months old on Monday. He had his appointment at the doctor yesterday and weighed in at 12 lbs. 2 oz. and 23.75 inches long. He is meeting all of his 2 month milestones (tracking with his eyes, smiling, cooing) and some of his 4 month milestones (holding head up on belly). He is in size 2 diapers. He is sleeping from about 8:30pm to 4-5am and then again until 8am. He catnaps throughout the day, but he has been pretty consistent with at least one midday/early afternoon nap for about 2.5 hours.

The girls have enjoyed having their daddy around for 2 months. He has started working part time again until the last 4 weeks of his paternity leave is up. They need him to help with some things at work. So we will have him around a little more often for a few more months until he goes back to work fulltime.

The girls were so cute painting today at our new kitchen table. They loved the new watercolor paints and stayed focused for quite a well.

Our new table and chairs are from Ikea. We needed a table that sat more than 4 people! Also, we wanted a regular table height rather than the pub/bar height table that we had. The chairs are just folding metal chairs with a cute polka dot cut out design. I think we will use them indoors/outdoors for years to come, plus they will just wipe clean easier with messy kids. The girls can access this table much better. It also gives us a lot more room in this area of our home.

Go Niners!

Jackie got Jensen this awesome UNCC football jersey since the team will start this coming fall! Allyson Surratt made the cute hat.  Jensen was just looking so cute!

His game face!

Hopefully, UNCC won't make us look like this in the fall!

First Bottle

Jensen has been nursing so well that I just realized that he hadn't drank from a bottle yet. I know it probably isn't a big deal, but I want him to take a bottle just in case I have to be away from him any time soon. He has been sleeping longer at night, so I pumped this morning and we gave him his first bottle.

He was cheesing for Daddy before his bottle. This is an "I slept for 9 hours" smile!

He took it very easily.

Haven was so excited to feed him. This was a dream come true!

She is going to be a good mommy. She can already multi-task. She was getting something from Jovie with her right hand, so she used her chin to hold the bottle.

Jovie wanted to try too!

He took the 3 oz. like a champ. It makes me happy to know that a bottle will make him happy!

Silliness and Proof

Jovie and Haven are so funny. They were enjoying laying in warm laundry and then turned the couch into some type of fort. I love seeing their skin color difference.

Haven has started fixing her own hair. I thought this was pretty amazing.

Haven enjoying her bath.

Proof that mom is a real person. I need to make sure I take more pictures with our kids.

Smiles

Jensen has been giving us a smile here and there for almost a month, but over the past two weeks the smiles have increased. Now, I can get him to smile anytime he is fed and happily awake. He coos and smiles and it melts our hearts. I love watching his personality develop. He is a sweetie!

Tuesday night Jensen made his Momma smile. He slept 8.5 hours in a row!

Week 6

Jensen is already six weeks old and he is growing fast. His 0-3 clothes are getting little and he is definitely feeling heavier. He is still keeping mommy pretty busy with feedings, but Daddy is taking great care of the sisters when this is going on. We are thanking God for warm days to play outside, preschool for Haven, and cookies!

Jensen was thinking really hard.

Jensen posing with the blanket Grammy made for him.

She did a beautiful job with the embroidery!

A sweet moment between siblings.

Haven and Jovie have really been enjoying drawing on the dry erase boards. I love seeing their creations.

Haven wrote her name backwards, but drew a beautiful eye. Jeremy showed her how to draw and eye for I, a heart for love, and then write names after. So sweet!

The rest of our family/newborn pictures

Here are more of the pictures that our friend Taylor took for us in early December. The kids weren't very cooperative, but that is just real life for us these days.

Thankful

I'm so thankful to have this crazy man around all of the time right now! Paternity Leave Rocks!
