Jensen's first days

Jensen's last picture in the belly. We had to be at the hospital at 5am for surgery prep. Can you tell I am ready for this thing to be over? I wasn't looking forward to surgery, but not being pregnant and having a sweet baby to hold is all I could think about.

A scheduled c-section is definitely a lot more peaceful than an emergency one. We were able to see my parents, watch tv, and Jeremy got breakfast while we waited. The surgery went really smooth. Dr. Clarke and Dr. Bowles took it very slow since I had two previous c-sections and they gave us updates along the way saying everything was going smoothly. I didn't have any of the anxiety that I did the last time. Obviously, the surgery wasn't fun, but it went well and I am so thankful for that. I immediately felt relief from all of the pregnancy inducing pains as soon as Jensen came out. He came out crying a very deep and manly cry. It was really funny because our girls sounded so delicate. He was ready to nurse right away, but the surgery took another 25 minutes or so before I could hold him. Jeremy stayed with him during all of that time. We just couldn't believe it as we watch them weigh and measure him.

8 lbs. 1 oz and 21 inches long!

After I had a good while with Jensen, Jeremy took him out for our parents to see him.

Aunt Wendy

Aunt Lyndsey got to change his first diaper in our room.

The girls were thrilled to finally see him.

We figured out that he may look most like Jeremy's mom's side of the family so far. This picture reminds us of Jeremy's cousin's kids.

I also got the privilege of changing a poopy diaper. Changing a boy's diaper is a lot different than a girl's. I think once his belly button and little boy surgery heal up it will get much easier.

Cousin Mary came by along with others, but I didn't get pictures of everybody. I did try to get everyone to sign his baby book.

Thursday afternoon the kids came back with Pop and Grammy and Wendy and her kids came by too. Haven loved watching Jensen be examined by our nurse. We think she may be in he medical field one day.

All 5 Bradham grandkids. Jovie is sitting beside her favorite, Jake.

At one point, all 3 of our kids were crying. Jovie wanted to keep holding Jensen. Jensen didn't want anyone to hold him and Haven was just crying to cry.

Best Big Sisters!

Daddy and his sweet boy

We got to leave the hospital around lunchtime on Dec. 1st. Everything was decorated so beautifully for Christmas.

First time riding in a car. He cried for a few minutes and then slept the rest of the way.

As soon as we got home, Haven was ready to be with her brother. She was excited that he wanted to hold her hand.

All 3 of our silly kids. They are all making such amazing faces in this picture.

Jovie spent the night with Grammy and Pop, but Haven really wanted to stay with us. She needed some quality time with her brother this morning. It is amazing how big she and Jovie seem now that we have a tiny one in the house again.

We have had a great 4 days so far. Momma is feeling better everyday. Daddy has actually gotten a little sleep. The girls were loved by all of their caretakers over the last few days. Jensen has fussy times, but overall he is just the cutest thing we have ever seen. We are blessed.

  1. Precious photos & precious memories of those first days with baby Jensen! Everyone is SO cute! It's funny that you mentioned that everyone was crying at one point when the girls came to the hospital to meet sweetly as you picture that in your mind, and it really is a sweet time, we have always found it to be a little hectic, playing with hospital equipment, everyone wants to hold baby or jump on Mommy...and we always end up with several kids crying, too...but a sweet memory none the less!
