Baby Shower Pictures

The blue chevron and orange accents were so perfect for my baby boy shower. Everything was designed by my sister, Wendy at McSwain Design and Bonnie made the cake.

Bonnie made the cute motorcyle monkey.

Little boy clothes are cute, just not as colorful as girl clothes.

The girls love to help open presents.

Jovie was attached to Grammy.

It is always such a blessing to be in the presence of people who love your kids. Thanks for a great shower girls.

blessings

Last Saturday, I had my first shower for Baby Jensen. I only have pictures of the present aftermath, but I will shower the beautiful shower when I get the pictures from my sister. His rack in the kids' closet is already full. We are so blessed with so many givers in our lives.

Haven was worn out. While Jeremy and I were going through all of the cute presents she asked if I would cover her up with one of Jensen's new soft blankets and she was out cold. She doesn't nap hardly ever anymore.

Apple Hill Orchard 2012, Morganton

We took our annual Apple Orchard trip last Monday. It was perfect day. The weather was beautiful, the   orchard wasn't too busy, and the kids had so much fun. Grammy got to go with us this year. We were glad she got to go on one of our field trips.

We learned how they pick, sort, and store the apples.

Then we got to watch delicious apple cider being made.

We listened to our guide tell us about honey bees and how they help the orchard.

Then for the best part, we got to taste a few different types of apples, drink fresh cider, and pick out our apples to take home.

After a tour of the refrigerators and a tractor/wagon ride around the farm, we had a picnic lunch.

What a fun day!

The Nursery Remix

When I planned the nursery for Haven, I heard great advice. I think on HGTV one of the designers said to design a nursery that I would enjoy because I would be the one looking at it the most. So, I did. I have loved the nursery everyday. I decided to go gender neutral from the beginning because I felt like we would have a boy one day. Now that we needed 3 kid bedrooms, I decided to move some of the original nursery stuff upstairs for Jovie's room and updated the nursery with some trendy yellow chevron.

You can check out the original nursery here.

Mom and I made the curtains. They are lined and hooked up with little clips. They turned out perfect.

There are still a girly toys in here, because we play in here a lot.

I switched out the salmon color in the mural for yellow.

I printed a free monogram for Jensen and added a jar of Uncle John's matchbox collection.

I got rid of the pink and purple crib sheets, but still need to get a new laundry basket for Jensen. I also repainted the pink flowers yellow.

So, just a few small updates made a big difference in this room. I love the yellow. It is so bright and happy.

Preschool 2012

Haven and Jovie had their first day of preschool this week. Haven is in the 3 year old class on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 9:15-1:00 and Jovie is in the Mother's Morning Out class on Wednesdays.

They had a short day on the first day, Wednesday. Haven was really excited and did really well. Jovie went into her class and started playing, but soon realized that we had left. They said she cried on and off for the first hour. Hopefully it will get easier and easier for her.

Labor Day at OKI

We ran away to the beach this long weekend and had a great time. Our girls travel so well. We had easy rides there and back. They slept about the way they do at home, not always perfect. ;) It was hot but the beach had a nice breeze the whole time. The girls were fearless on the beach. Jovie napped on the beach both days. We ate at our favorite spots and even got delicious doughnuts at the new place- Ahoy Doughnuts. It is so nice to get away for a few days and have fun.

Jovie in the red polka dot bikini that my sister and I wore when we were babies.

I love this pic of her eyes and hair. Excuse the black dot on her face from our camera.

Haven's we have to leave face :(
