My next door neighbor asked me what we have been up to lately and I couldn't really tell her. I think we've just been playing and eating and playing and eating. That about wraps it up.

Bethany and Jovie jumping at their cousins house.

Jovie fell in love with Haven's bike. There have already been a lot of tears about this. Oh boy!

Luckily, Haven just jumped on the other bike. She mainly likes to wash this bike with the hose.

Jovie is getting more independent. She has started taking 3 or 4 steps a few times a day by herself. She is still cruising around on anything she can grab. Under this table is one of their favorite spots to play.

We were looking for my Care Bear the other day and found Barbies instead. Haven said they were very cute and asked me lots of questions about their hair, earrings, and outfits. She loved that I had the Disney family because they all had characters on their shirts.

Raptor Center

The girls and I needed an adventure a few weeks ago, so we decided to go check out the Nature Center and Raptor Center at Latta Plantation. Latta is only about 15 minutes away, but somehow we hadn't been there with Haven yet. So, we spent some time going to the bathroom, looking at snakes, and playing with a worm at the Nature Center and then headed over to the Raptor Center.

Daddy's favorite bird, Peregrine Falcon.
Jeremy's note: even at only one-wing capacity, it still has to be kept in a cage cause it can kill you. Awesome.

Jovie enjoyed all of the owls the best. She has owls in her room so she enjoys hearing me make the owl noises.

Haven spent most of her time finding inch worms. They were everywhere and she was in heaven.

Haven checking out the toucans.

Inside, they had this little play tree. Haven also found that they sell Izzy, the owl, from our Wild Animal Baby Explorers books. It was pretty exciting to see Izzy.

Square Foot Garden

After reading a few books, talking with friends, and feeling like I had put it off long enough, I decided that this was the year to start a garden. I decided to go with the All-New Square Foot Gardening method due to the plan that is so easy to execute. The book was a great read and I learned so much, now we just have to put it into practice and pray our crops grow. My boxes are bigger than Mr. Mel recommends, but I had the space for it.

My brother-in-law, Josh, made the beautiful boxes out of the cedar that he cut and planed himself. They smell so good and look so pretty.

Jeremy and I mixed up my Mel's Mix dirt and put it in. I got the grids cut to size and installed them. The longest task was making these chicken wire cages, but all of my neighbors with gardens said we would have to do something to keep out the animals.

Mel suggests soaking plants and seeds before planting them and also leaving sun-warmed water out for watering. So that's what I did.

I know it is a little early but I planted some flower seeds, cilantro, strawberries, and banana peppers.

You can't see it in these pictures, but we also have started a compost pile behind the well. I feel like I need to take a class on composting to make sure I am doing it right.

I can't wait to see what we produce!

These girls and their daddy

It doesn't get any better than this.

We had a relaxing, Easter weekend. Our girls both slept all night for 4 nights in a row and this has never happened before. So, we are feeling very refreshed and it was a nice change of pace. We went to church Sunday morning and then to Jeremy's parents for lunch and the egg hunt. Haven also had an Easter party at her school on Thursday.

The Egg Hunt Begins

Jovie wanted in on the action.

Haven loves hunting eggs, but still needs lots of audience participation to find all of the eggs.

Opening their eggs to find lots of treats.

It looked like Christmas at Meems and Peeps house.

Favorite Activity of the Moment

Jumping on the couch and using the cushions as slides or forts is the favorite indoor activity right now around our house.

2nd Annual Easter Party

We hosted our second Easter party last Monday. I invited a lot of friends that are home with their little ones and we had a blast. I read this Jelly bean poem while showing the colors and had the kids participate. Then we had snacks/lunch while the sun came out just in time for the egg hunt.

The kid shot before the Easter Egg Hunt!

She found one!

Keep searching!

My sister, Wendy, took much better pictures of the party than I did. We had so much fun and enjoyed having all of our friends over.
