Discovery Place

Bonnie, Stella, Haven and I ventured to Discovery Place last week and had so much fun. I hadn't been since they remodeled. The new exhibits are great and there was something for all ages. We will definitely be going back once school starts back and hopefully we will be able to play a little more. There were a lot of camp groups there. Plus, my sis told me we totally missed a cool bridge in the rainforest.

We caught this beautiful sunset last week. One of Haven's prayer books says, "Thank you for sunsets God, they are your very special way to say goodbye to everyday."

18 Month Pictures

So, it took 4 adults to get some good shots of Haven. She is a busy girl these days and loves to run, jump, pull weeds, look at bugs, and make funny faces. Our talented, friend Taylor took these pictures of Haven at our cousins' house on the lake and it was perfect. Josh kept us all safe near the water with his spiderman-like reflexes.

Award Winning, I Tell Ya!

A while back I posted about the fact that Haven and I have award winning bed head. I mean we really could make records. I think it is hilarious. Here is proof:

Need Suggestions!

I love our front porch with rockers and a swing, but it needs some help. In the afternoon we get extremely hot sunshine beaming on the swing making it unable to use for a few hours. So, I got these shutters for free, hooked them together, painted them white and hung them up. I was going for a bahama/bermuda shutter look, but on a much lower budget. I definitely didn't get that look, but I like it. I just feel like it needs to go a little further. The shutters also give us more privacy from our fairly close neighbors. What does it need to look more finished?



We also finally got our storm door and I LOVE it. I can't believe how cozy it makes me feel. I love the light coming in and the easier access to the front porch.

Long 4th of July Weekend

We had a great long weekend. Jeremy and I had a date night Friday night and Haven stayed at the Andlers all day Friday until Saturday morning. Then we just hung out around the house, went to church, and enjoyed having Jeremy home an extra day. We decorated our driveway with sidewalk chalk, but decided against fireworks this year. Next year, I think she will really enjoy it.

Here's whats new with Havie:

Haven has started playing with her dolls just in the past days. She wanted a bottle to feed them and blanket to lay them on. She also gave them kisses so they could go night night.


Haven has loved her popsicles and she absolutely adored her "fwag" shirt. She loves flags and points them out everywhere we go. She is very patriotic.



Her hair is getting really long, especially when it is straight. It normally curls up when she gets hot or after she sleeps on it.



Haven loves playing with the foam stickers and we gave her earrings like Layla the other day. I think she looks like MawMaw with her "earbobs" on.

Show Week at The Little Gym

This was the last week of the spring session at The Little Gym, so the kids got to show off all they have learned. We got to go twice since we needed to make up a class. Haven had so much more fun the second time when the class was smaller and quieter. I will have to remember that over the years. She really showed off for Pop and Daddy. I think I have enjoyed her classes as much as she has because it teaches me activities I can try with her at home. She just may be a little gymnast one day.
