Wintry Mix Blast Explosion 2010

Beautiful snow fell Friday afternoon and into the night. We got about 4-5 inches with a little sleet on top. We have enjoyed our slow paced weekend. We have all slept well and enjoyed being together.

Haven's favorite thing to do right now is play with our shoes. She will go find shoes and carry them around and try to put them on our feet. She can also say shoes and socks.

We had a to make a horizontal snow man because the snow was so powdery at our house yesterday. Today it was much better snow ball and snow man quality because it was wet from melting.

Haven wouldn't smile for the camera. She wanted to lick the snow, not sit up and take pictures.

Today we ate lunch at Mom and Dad's and went sledding with the fam. Jake and Josh went down the hill a few times together.

Haven's First Sled Adventure

Bubbles and a mistake

Haven took her first bubble bath in the big tub this week. She liked the bubbles, but cried when I turned on the water. I will get her out before I rinse out the tub from now on.


I was trying to be super efficient and quickly touch up some spots on our walls while Haven was napping. Well, the quart of paint we bought is not the same color as our walls. The name is the same, but the color not so much. Jeremy thought I was plotting a way to repaint our living room. Yes, I would love a new color, but I am not painting these high walls.

Spring Wardrobe

Tonight, I have been looking at the spring clothes online. There are so many cute things for me and Haven. I think the thought of ice tomorrow makes me long for more spring-like days. Today, we played outside and Haven loves being outside. I will love seeing her wear cute spring clothes. She must have this cardigan.

First Haircut

Haven has had her DOC band off for a little over a week and now we can see all of her pretty hair. We noticed that is gets super fuzzy after sitting in her carseat and it was a little uneven, so I trimmed it today. She wasn't very cooperative, but I snipped a few little hairs and enjoyed it. One of my life goals is to go to hair school and be able to cut hair for people that can't afford to pay. I have always enjoyed it and would love to learn all of the techniques. But as for right now, Jeremy, Haven, and my mom will be my trusting clients.

We enjoyed the warmer weather so much over the past few days. Haven has loved being outside. She got to push around her toys and ride in her wagon. I told Jeremy that this is what we have dreamed about for so long. It was so fun to play with her and see how excited she was to touch dirt, crawl on concrete, and find treasures.

Jeremy played at the Great Wolf Lodge on Sunday with some buddies for a youth conference, so Haven and I went to check it out. I thought everything was really cool, except for the scorcery looking stuff on the treasure hunt that kids can do. The water park looks like so much fun. We will have to go back when Haven gets a little bigger.

Haven had her exit appointment yesterday at Cranial Technologies and she did so well. She got a graduation certificate and had her final digital pictures taken. She didn't even cry, which is a big deal since they put a stocking over her head like a bank robber.

Chicken Pox

Really, the chicken pox. Are you kidding me?

Poor Havie, got a mild case of the pox after getting the vaccine last week. She was lethargic with a fever Monday, crying Tuesday, and the bumps broke out on Wednesday. She has been extremely normal since Wednesday, so we are just thankful that she didn't feel too bad.


This girl was definitely created for God's glory. I know we all are, but we still get overwhelmed with the nice comments strangers make out in public about our girl. She can make a stranger's day with a sweet wave and smile. She melts hearts for sure. She has had to go through a little more than the average baby, but she is always sweet and friendly. We trust God completely with her and are thankful that He's got the whole world in His hands.

Haven's physical therapist at Cranial Tech, told us to go ahead and take off her DOC band. So now she has about 4 bruises on her noggin. She will have to learn to watch her head as she crawls and walks around. Her daddy and I love kissing that head!

Outside at last!

Can you tell this girl is ready for spring?

We were able to spend a few minutes outside today, since it was 30 degrees warmer than it has been lately. She fell in love with the swing again. She loved it over the summer and today was no different. I could tell she was really enjoying herself.

Tomorrow we are supposed to go for our last appointment at Cranial Technologies to be released from the band! So, today we took a few last pictures, hoping to find one cute enough to send in for their calendar contest. I think she will get picked. What do you think?

Miss March maybe, with the green?

However, we might not be able to go to our appointment tomorrow, because she has a really bad rash all over her chest and back and a few bumps on her arms, neck, and face. She had a fever on Monday with no other symptoms and then a rash today. Maybe rash isn't the correct word, but she has lots of individual red dots all over with a little white around them. She had shots last Monday. I have no idea what it is from. Does anyone have any experience with this? So, she is sad that she might not get her band off tomorrow.

Haven's buds

We are really going to miss seeing Layla over the next year. When we see her again next holiday season she will be running around and talking up a storm. We love you Norketts and can't wait until you are back in town. What a great surprise it was to get to spend face to face time with you.

Bethany stayed with us for a little while the other day and the girls loved playing together. They are so funny! I love that they are same size, but still so different.

Walking

Haven has been taking steps for over a month, but today she walked a lot on her own. Aunt Lyndsey asked me on 12-5-09 when I thought Haven would be walking and I said about a month. Well today is 1-6-10 and I was right. She is so proud and super cute when she walks. Here's proof!

Today's project

I got inspired by another blogger today to be crafty. I was tired of Haven's signature picture on her wall. Here is the before:



We recently put up her new growth chart where her hairbows were, so I reused the signature frame and made a new bow holder. I love it. I put scrapbook paper behind the glass and then used ribbon I already had from her diaper cakes to hold the bows.

What will 2010 bring?

She is so proud that she learned to climb the stairs. Since Christmas Eve, she has been climbing stairs like a wild woman. She loves it.

What else will 2010 bring?

- A trip for our 30th birthdays (btw, i am already excited about this and we haven't even made any plans yet. we love to travel. any suggestions?)

- Getting more involved in our new church

- Haven gets her band off on the 14th, so that is a fast approaching blessing

- Running a 10K for Holly (i ran a 5k last week and it was loooonnnggg, the scenery was a little boring, so maybe a 10k in a scenic area wouldn't be so bad)

- March of Dimes March for Babies in April

- Watching our little girl approach her 2nd birthday and all the new adventures that come with that

- Jeremy playing drums more

- Toy Story 3 in June

- and many more surprises!

What a year!

We had a wonderful year. Everyday was different with our little one and we enjoyed every minute of it. We celebrated New Year's Eve with friends at a Hibachi Grill and then came back home and watched a movie. I guess we are getting old because we didn't really even care to watch the ball drop.


Haven loved the Christmas tree and she decided to hide behind it before we took it down. She is so cute.

She also loves climbing the stairs now and playing with her daddy on the landing.

She wants to walk so bad, but she is standing and cruising really well. Isn't she adorable?
