Cooper River Bridge Run 2010

This weekend we went to the Charleston area for Bonnie and I to run the Cooper River Bridge 10K. It was only the 2nd 10K race of my life, the first being the Run for Peace in 1999. The only reason I did that one was to win a $500 scholarship. My sister had to plead with me multiple times during that race to keep moving. I enjoy running, but I don't see myself choosing to run more than 1 hour in the future. We finished the CRBR in 1 hour and 5 minutes. We kept a great pace even in the thousands of people. I felt great and had a great running partner. Bonnie had never run this far ever, so she did fabulous. She carried her camera and took all of the race shots.

Here is the view behind us from the starting line. Notice the man praying. Too funny.

Pre-race smiles. Notice the red nose. It was cold.

Here we are approaching the start line. We finished in the first 18,000 of 38,500.

We made it to the top of the bridge and Bonnie took a picture of the view.

Haven and Stella had so much fun playing together. It was fun to watch them all day. Stella was searching for Haven first thing in the morning by yelling "Ha, Ha!"
Haven and Stella thought it was funny to sit on the blocks.

Vickery's was full of cool artwork inside and outside of the restaurant.

This is a delicious restaurant on the river near the shrimp boats.
